Nakaya Portable Writer Tamesukashi Ascending Dragon 3 Fountain Pen
NK.UCSWTSAD3R
This is the third version of the popular “Ascending dragon” series of Tame-sukashi. We have unveiled a dragon that reflects more of the Japanese taste compared to the previous two versions (the first version had been based on an ancient Chinese painting). We have designed a Magatama (a comma‐shaped bead) on the dragon ball at the cap, and a dragon’s nail in Tomoe (three comma‐shaped figures in a circle) form at the grip coming together in a brilliant combination. Base model is Cigar model long size.
A cap is screw-type. This model has no trim and no distinction between cap and barrel. This model is long and is supposed to be used without posting the cap when writing. As ebonite is a very light material it is possible to make the barrel thicker and longer. Therefore the balance point can be set easier to provide comfortable writing for everyone. "Tame" means "pool" and "nuri" refers to the lacquer coating process. You can actually see through the layers of clear urushi lacquer as if you were looking into a pool. When the process is finished, you can still see the base surface of red urushi. After this coating process, craftsmen polish the surface over and over by hand for months in order to attain greater transparency, allowing you to clearly see the underlying red usurshi surface.
