Sailor Professional Gear Classic Ko Maki-e Ala SV Fountain Pen
Sailor Professional Gear Classic Ko Makie Ala SV features a transparent material inspired by smoky quartz, a natural stone that is used as the base from Classic Ko, a maki-e studio in Kaga. Ala SV features a mysterious motif reminiscent of ancient relics. The word “Ala” means wings, and this design is inspired by a myth in which winged gods who symbolize good omen and beauty appear. The design is made with "silver" maki-e (SV si for silver) and mother of pearl.
In recent years, “Maki-e” art has regained popularity, being featured in diverse usages from tea ceremony utensils to jewelry. Sailor Pen’s Classic Ko Series has brought a new concept to “Maki-e” writing instruments in collaboration with Classic Ko, an innovative jewelry brand renowned for integrating traditional craft with modernity.
